Expanding the International Model Forest Network Secretariat.

For more than 30 years, the International Model Forest Network (IMFN) has provided an approach for sharing our principles and values of sustainability, partnerships, innovation and good governance.  Over time, the IMFN Secretariat has adapted to best serve our members and, in this context, we are pleased to share an update of the IMFN Secretariat team!

To further develop and strengthen the IMFN and its profile internationally, Pierre-Jonathan Teasdale – Director of Trade and International Affairs at the Canadian Forest Service, will now serve as the Executive Director of the IMFN Secretariat, responsible for governance, advocacy, and high-level strategic relationships.

A new Deputy Director position of the IMFN Secretariat has been created and will be filled by Megan Masters.

To strengthen advocacy, partnerships, and provide IMFN Secretariat support to the six IMFN regions, the IMFN Secretariat has identified the following Regional Network Leads:

  • Émilie Sasseville: Latin America, and Africa

  • Christa Mooney: Asia

  • Juliana Forner: Mediterranean

  • Laura Coates: European Boreal and Temperate, and Canada

We are excited about the changes the IMFN Secretariat has implemented and believe we are well equipped to support the continued growth and innovation of the IMFN.

We look forward to strengthening our partnerships and working together to shine a light on the solutions Model Forests bring to the global and landscape-level challenges confronting us.
