The IMFN Global Forum 2025 proceedings are now online and are available in English, French, and Spanish.
The Ontario Woodlot Association (OWA) and the Eastern Ontario Model Forest (EOMF), with funding from Natural Resources Canada’s Global Forest Leadership Program and support of the IMFN Secretariat and the Global Landscapes Forum, organized and hosted the IMFN Global Forum 2025 at Kemptville Campus, Kemptville, Ontario, Canada from May 26 – 30, 2025. The forum attracted over 180 delegates representing over 60 Model Forests from around the world.
Since its creation, five IMFN Global Forums were held between 1996 and 2011. As the sixth such event, the IMFN Global Forum 2025 was deemed a tremendous success by all who attended. The OWA’s Annual Woodlot Tour and Conference was held in conjunction with the Global Forum, sharing the theme Act Locally… Think Globally, and allowing the interaction and networking of an additional 200+ Ontario forest owners with Global Forum delegates. The IMFN Global Forum 2025 also integrated a one-day hybrid (in-person and virtual) event entitled Forests, People, Planet: Scaling Local Solutions For Global Impact delivered in partnership with Global Landscapes Forum and the Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR). Over 3,000 people from 129 countries participated, either in-person or online.
The Kemptville Campus Education and Community Centre proved to be an excellent venue and base for the IMFN Global Forum. The Centre is an educational and multi-use facility serving the community of North Grenville and surrounding area, located in the heart of the EOMF.
As with past forums, the 2025 event was a business, technical, and networking meeting in which members shared knowledge, reviewed their accomplishments, addressed challenges, and agreed on network-wide and other strategic plans and initiatives for a period of at least five years.
