Comings and goings

Araucarias del Alto Malleco Model Forest (AAMMF) in Chile welcomed Don Pedro Marihuan to its Board of Directors in May.  Pedro was democratically elected by the community of Lonquimay to represent the Pehuenche people. Don Garbriel Huaiqu, one of AAMMF’s founding Directors, was re-elected to the Board where he represents the Mitrauquen sector.  And, Elena Ulloa, an anthropologist by training, also joined the Model Forest as the new Community Development and Projects Manager, replacing outgoing Cristina Arevalo.
Mildred Jimenez, a south-south CUSO cooperant, joined the new Reventazón Model Forest in Costa Rica as their first Manager.  The forestry engineer will promote, coordinate and consolidate the integration of new partners into the Model Forest.  As a native of the Reventazón area, Mildred brings with her relevant experience in promotion of natural ecosystem conservation and restoration.  She is based out of the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), a partner in the Reventazón Model Forest.

Congratulations to all!
